Local CIBE business MCS Debt Recovery has been working to support the Solomon Mahlangu Primary School in Cornubia and is asking other businesses to get involved.
This free school was originally set up for 300 learners but they now have 930 learners from Grade R to Grade 7, so their needs are vast and varied.
To try and meet some of them, MCS contact the headmaster once a quarter to find out what they need most urgently and after fundraising or obtaining contributions, MCS then deliver what they have to the school every month or 2.
So How Can You Get Involved?
Email Saskia Hill saskia@mcsdr.co.za at MCS, who will add you to the database she uses to send out requests for the schoolβs needs.
If there is something on the list you can help with, she will co-ordinate and ensure the school receives your contribution.
MCS noted that there is also a small creche in the area which caters for youngsters from 0 to 4 years old which could also benefit if more businesses are getting involved in contributions.
The CIBE will continually update other businesses and the media on this initiative and we thank MCS for taking the lead on this.
