392 Bags of Litter Collected in November as Precinct Prepares for Year-End

Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance

As businesses in the Cornubia Industrial and Business Estate (CIBE) gear up for the December shutdown, the Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance (CGM) team has maintained a strong presence, delivering consistent upkeep and preparing the precinct for the summer season.

392 refuse bags collected this month

Throughout November, 392 refuse bags were filled as part of daily cleaning operations across the precinct, a clear reflection of the team’s ongoing commitment to keeping public spaces clean and navigable.

Median painting and garden prep enhance Tottum Road

Visible improvements include the painting of the Tottum Road median and preparatory work for new gardens along the same route. These efforts not only improve the visual landscape but support soil retention and urban biodiversity during the upcoming summer months.

Storm drain cleaning and verge maintenance after rains

Following recent heavy rains, stormwater drains were cleaned to prevent water pooling and ensure uninterrupted flow during peak rainfall periods. At the same time, the team continued with grass cutting, fertilising, and verge and island maintenance, as well as road kerb painting β€” all of which contribute to the precinct’s well-kept appearance.

Β 5 active developments driving precinct growth

On the development front, five construction sites remain active within CIBE, with two nearing completion. This steady activity underscores the continued demand for industrial space in the precinct and highlights its role as a vital node for business in the north of Durban.
