77% of Streetlights Now Operational as Sewer Repairs Completed on Tottum Road

Ongoing fault reporting and follow-ups to eThekwini Municipality has contributed to key infrastructure improvements in the Cornubia Industrial and Business Estate (CIBE) throughout the month of May. With focused attention on Tottum Road, both underground and above-ground services have seen important progress.

Sewer Mainline Repairs Completed

The eThekwini Water and Sanitation Department successfully completed repairs to the sewer mainline on Tottum Road this month. This work is essential to maintaining the integrity of the precinct’s sanitation infrastructure and preventing blockages or overflows that could affect surrounding properties. We appreciate the timely completion of this work, particularly in an area that serves as a key route within the precinct.

Streetlight Repairs Continue

The eThekwini Electricity Department was also on site during May to address outstanding faults in streetlighting along Tottum Road. Thanks to their efforts, streetlight functionality across the precinct has improved, with 77% of lights now operational. While repairs are ongoing, this marks a step forward in improving safety and visibility in key public areas.

We will continue to monitor municipal service delivery closely and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure the precinct remains well-serviced and maintained.

We ask all members to keep and eye out and report any suspected faults online here.
