Solidarity Fund to extend once-off support to workers affected by the 2021 July civil unrest

In partnership with the National Empowerment Fund (NEF), the Solidarity Fund (SF) is reaching out to workers who remain unemployed due to the July civil unrest. The Fund’s intention is to provide them with a once off aid package.

The NEF and SF have contacted both the City and Cornubia Industrial and Business Estate Management Association requesting assistance from affected employers to kindly provide details of those employees no longer working for them or to pass the message on.

Registration for eligible unemployed workers will take place at the Durban City Hall from the 18th to Β 20th February. Announcements will also be made on Ukhozi and Gagasi FM for further information. The nature of the aid package will not be specified as not to attract opportunists.
