Streetlight Functionality From 73% to 84% As Municipal Teams Deliver

Municipal Services

Municipal departments were active in Cornubia during July, delivering a range of infrastructure and service improvements to support business activity and precinct growth.

Major Municipal Achievements

One of the month’s most notable achievements was the improvement in precinct lighting levels.

  • Streetlight functionality increased from 73% to 84%
  • Repair and reinstallation of light fittings continued across the estate
  • A damaged streetlight pole on Papilio Close was replaced

3 Key Infrastructure Projects Completed

Municipal departments also carried out a variety of infrastructure-related projects, including:

  • Sewer maintenance on Tottum Road by the Wastewater Department
  • Road reinstatement works by the Roads Department
  • Electrical service connections for developments currently under construction within the precinct

Safe, Stable and Business-Focused

The month began with heightened awareness around the planned demonstrations on 30 June. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of SAPS, security partners and precinct stakeholders, Cornubia remained calm and unaffected. Importantly, no crime-related incidents were reported during July

As municipal departments and precinct teams continue to work together, Cornubia remains well-positioned to provide a safe, functional and thriving environment for businesses operating in the estate.
