Streetlighting to Reach 71% – CIBE eTM Update

Municipal Services

CIBE continues to work closely with eThekwini Municipality to strengthen infrastructure and service delivery across the precinct. This month, key focus areas included power infrastructure upgrades and ongoing improvements to streetlight functionality.

Substation Relocation and New Connection in Progress

eThekwini’s Electricity Department was onsite during May, carrying out critical work to support current and future development, including the substation relocation to optimise power distribution and a new power connection to the development site on Tottum Road.

Lighting Set to Reach 71%

Streetlighting remains a priority for safety and visibility across CIBE. While 67% of streetlights are currently operational, seven fittings removed for repairs will be reinstated shortly, pushing the precinct to approximately 71% streetlight functionality.

CIBE continues to collaborate with eThekwini to ensure these critical services are maintained and improved over time. Members of the public are encouraged to report any maintenance or safety issues using the online fault reporting platform.
