While August brought typical winter dryness to the Cornubia precinct, our Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance (CGM) teams remained active and committed to ensuring that all public areas continued to meet our high standards of upkeep.
Seasonal upkeep despite the brown backdrop
Although the verges and landscaping may appear dry and brown β a common characteristic during this time of year β the precinct has remained consistently clean and well-maintained. Our landscaping and maintenance teams have continued with scheduled work across the precinct, ensuring visibility and functionality are not compromised.
Recent activities include:
-
Cutting boundaries to keep sight lines clear and maintain security standards.
-
Edging verges and trimming grass to neaten public spaces.
-
Weeding and watering in our established gardens, which are monitored daily.
-
Painting markers and other minor infrastructure to reduce visual urban decay.
-
Sweeping streets and litter collection, contributing to a consistently tidy environment.

Ongoing focus on safety and cleanliness
The teamβs work has extended beyond routine maintenance to include focused efforts that improve both the aesthetic and practical value of the precinct. Despite water restrictions and the dry season, selective watering ensures that critical landscaped areas are sustained, and debris is swiftly removed from public paths.
As we look ahead to the first signs of spring, our teams are already preparing gardens for the growing season so that the precinct can continue to look its best.
